Make raw edits as normal particularly matching up colours/WB.

Import into Photoshop as Layers

Order layers:

  1. Ambient room shot
  2. Flash room shot
  3. Window pull flash
  4. Window pull ambient

Edit – Auto Align Layers

Room Layers

Black layer mask on room ambient layer. Brush tool – white,25% hardness, 100% opacity, 5% flow.

Paint in some of the ambient to take out obvious flashie areas.

Group Room layers together.

Window Layers

Bring window pull flash layer to the top.

Layer blend mode darken,

Black layer mask

Brush tool, white, 100% flow, 100% opacity

Paint in windows

Bring non flash window layer to the top.

Black mask & paint in any corrections to windows, particularly reflections from flash.

Make other adjustments as necessary.
